Mantorville, Minnesota
Project Size: 175,000 SF
Project Cost: 48 million (projected)
DeVetter Design Group led a competition design team with some of the leading engineering and design consultants in Minnesota to win the competition for a new high-performance high school in the Kasson Mantorville School District. The field of competing designers included 18 of the best educational and high-performance building design teams in the Midwest.
The winning design features nearly 100% daylit educational spaces and a mechanical design that will reduce fuel consumption from a typical 150,000 BTUs to 35,000 BTUs.
The building features a student commons area with educational stations that overlooks a pond, a curved glass theater lobby, three gymnasiums, an attached community center with a pool, racquetball courts, a fitness center with an upper-level running track, and a classroom block that is designed to be universally flexible.
